For this assignment, I choose to research the Web 2.0 Tool, Facebook. I acquired the tools and skills it takes to not only run a Facebook account, but what it takes also to develop, share, and exchange information with any and everyone. Web 2.0 Tools such as social networking sites have taken our generation and opened up new forms of technology that allow users to connect instantly to anyone they wish.
Online predators are frighteningly becoming more and more popular among children surfing the World Wide Web. This class blog assignment allowed me to find and compare research about online predators and the crimes they commit, find out who is most at risk of being a victim of this crime, and tips on preventing these crimes from beginning at all. With the advancements in technology, online predators are able to connect with children of any ages and it is important to integrate issues such as this with students in the classroom. Keeping students educated on issues in technology is important to the safety of our children lives.
