In 2009, I began coaching varsity high school volleyball in the Black River school district. Did I mention it was just seven months after my 21st birthday? I have heard many people talk about what it takes to be a successful coach, teacher, mentor and person but to have the opportunity to develop those characteristics in myself while teaching it to others... simply is the reason for most of my happiness and joy. Not only do I as a coach learn everyday new things about myself and others, but I am able learn from so many brilliant and fantastic young ladies that will never be able to grasp all that they have taught me. For this portion of my blog, I would like to highlight the appreciation I have for coaches, teachers, and anyone in a position to inspire and give hope to today's youth.
